Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a standardized test to measure the English language ability of non-native speakers wishing to enrol in English-speaking universities and to use and understand North American English as it is spoken, written and heard in college and university settings. Most people who take the TOEFL test are planning to study at colleges and universities where instruction is in English. In addition, many government agencies, scholarship programs, and licensing/certification agencies use TOEFL scores to evaluate English proficiency.

To meet the needs of students who are unable to attend the TOEFL classes due to public health concerns, EduBrix has started offering online TOEFL Classes (Personal and Group Tuitions) option. The class is identical in content, format and on-screen experience taken at our institute. It is taken on your own computer at home and is conducted by our expert faculty.

The test is accepted by many English-speaking academic and professional institutions. TOEFL is one of the two major English-language tests in the world, the other being the IELTS.

Schedule

The TOEFL examination is conducted by the above mentioned certifying authorities about 5 to 6 times a month. The schedule of the examination is published on the website from time to time.

Test Scoring and CEFR Analysis

Test takers receive a score for each test component – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. The individual scores are then averaged and rounded to produce an Overall Band Score.Test Report Forms are valid for two years. The TOEFL iBT test is scored on a scale of 0 to 120 points, each section is scores of 0 to 30.

5.5 46-59 Modest User Has partial command of the language, coping with overall meaning in most situations, though is likely to make many mistakes. Should be able to handle basic communication in own field.
5.0 35-45 B1
4.5 32-34 Limited User Basic competence is limited to familiar situations. Have frequent problems in understanding and expression. Is not able to use complex language.

Level required by academic institutions for admission

The TOEFL minimum scores required by academic institutions and by course vary. As a general rule, the top ranked universities tend to require a higher TOEFL score. Most colleges use TOEFL scores as only one factor in their admission process, with a college or program within a college often setting a minimum TOEFL score required. The minimum TOEFL iBT scores range from 61 to 110.

Validity

TOEFL results are valid for two full years from the date of the result of the previous examination.
